MANILA, Philippines – Television host-actress Kris Aquino thanked the public for supporting her brother, Liberal Party standard-bearer Sen. Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III, in the May 10 elections.
In her Twitter page, Kris, who actively campaigned for Noynoy, was grateful to those who voted for her elder brother, who continues to lead in the counting.
Noynoy has maintained his No. 1 spot in the latest tally released by the Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting. As of 5:15 a.m. Wednesday, Noynoy kept a wide margin of 4,883,215 over his closest rival, former president Joseph Ejercito Estrada, who refused to concede to the senator.
After months of grueling campaign, Kris, meantime, disclosed that she and her family are going on a vacation before she reports for work.
She tweeted: "Time for my sons. We're going away on a short beach vacation. Back Saturday for ‘Pilipinas Got Talent (PGT).’ Thank u Philippines for choosing NOY!"
Kris is one of the 3 judges of PGT alongside Ai-Ai delas Alas and Freddie Garcia. The “Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo” star is also scheduled to return to “SNN: Showbiz News Ngayon” on May 17.
Kris, who is married to cager James Yap, has 2 sons, Joshua and James Yap Jr.
