Kris and Ai Ai's decision irks 'Pilipinas Got Talent' fans

Some of the fans of "Pilipinas Got Talent" are crying foul over what they allege as the partiality shown by judges, Kris Aquino and Ai Ai de las Alas, over a certain contestant.

Apparently, fans disapprove the two judges' decision to vote for Sherwin Baguion instead of Geraldine 'Fame' Flores. With this vote, Baguion had shut out Flores from entering the show's finals.

"May mga tenga ba kayo? [do you have ears for music?]," asked a PGT fan in one website.

Another fan shared, "Aquino and de las Alas] are bullsharks!"

Still another pointed out, "Honestly your [Aquino and de Las Alas] reasons for choosing Sherwin are not that acceptable. PGT is not a charity show. It is a talent show... you should've chosen the one with real talent."

Seemingly eager to appease the fans, Aquino, via Twitter, wrote: "I'll defend my choice of Sherwin, may emotional attachment kami ni friendship w/ him because we saw his dad perform (Kuryente King) & we could feel their love for family. He has a voice that can be developed to be like Jed (my favorite). We r allowed to text vote- honestly I super voted for Reiniel- kasi nga MJ obsessed kami ni Bimby- shocked ako na #4 lang sya!"

Aquino's tweet, however, failed to placate disgruntled fans.

"Kapag judge ka isantabi mo muna emotions mo," wrote one.

"Your [Aquino] reason is shallow and disappointing," charged another.

"Sherwin missed notes and you still consider him the winner? All because of your so-called emotions? You robbed Fame of her right. Disappointing," rejoined another.

ABS-CBN, owner of the franchise made for TV reality contest, has kept mum on the controversy as of this writing. De las Alas has yet to issue a statement.

  1. I absolutely agree that the biased decision arrived at by judges Kris Aquino and Ai-Ai delas Alas last Sunday in favor of the much less impressive performer,Sherwin, was quite unexpected. The viewers' text votes clearly indicated that more audience were convinced that Fame Flores deserved to have been proclaimed among the finalists for Pilipinas Got Talent instead of Sherwin Baguion. I would suggest that Aquino and delas Alas should not be considered as judges again in the next season of the same talent competition. ABS-CBN must make sure that the contest will not be spoiled by incompetent members of the Jury who can be simply emotional and obviously impulsive. Let the real best talent emerge on the basis of impartial, logical, valid and acceptable judgment. After all, the Filipinos take pride in showing to the entire world that indeed 'Pilipinas Got Talent' in the most real sense of the claim.

  2. I join all of those who regretted your decision to oust Geraldine Fame Flores as a finalist in the Filipinas Got Talent. Her performance was excellent compared to Sherwin. I pray that your decision as well of Ai Ai de las Alas be reconsidered. Please, for the sake of the program which seeks true talent, be reconsidered. Give Fame a chance for the finals. O DEL CALLAR

  3. Now that Fame Flores is gaining international attention (2 million YouTube hits in just 7 days), her ability to gain a slot at the semi-finals of Asia's Got Talent is a much greater validation of her beautiful talent.

A golden buzzer -- a vote of high confidence -- given not less than by a real music authority, David Foster, is proof that Fame's passionate singing is way beyond the comprehension and bakya culture of Kris Aquino and Ai-ai delas Alas.

I do hope that those two so-called PGT judges treat this as a slap to their cheap faces.

  4. Little Big Star!
    Philippine's Got Talent!
When will Channel 2 start spending more money to get credible judges? Philippines got many good singers but with bad judges, we will lose them..
