Kris: I won't be vindictive

Now that her brother, Nonoy Aquino, has been proclaimed the 15th President of the Republic of the Philippines, will Kris Aquino get back at those who called Noynoy "Abnoy," questioning his mental condition, and those who have been calling Kris to keep her "promise" to live abroad if ever she'd become a burden to her Kuya Noy?
The Noynoy-Kris "bashers" can sit back and relax.
"Why will I be vindictive when we won?" Kris said in a phone interview with Funfare Update yesterday. "Our parents didn't raise us to be vindictive. Of course, I will always be nice to all but nicest to all those who staked their names, careers and reputations to help Noy. "
But, as she publicly promised, Kris will quit the ABS-CBN showbiz talk shows The Buzz and SNN (Showbiz News Ngayon) effective June 30 coinciding with President-elect Noynoy's oath-taking, although she will continue to do soaps. Those shows are vulnerable to intrigues that could, like in the past, get Kris in hot water.
"I don't want to give Noy stress," said Kris.
Saying her family owes it to the people, Kris said that her and her sisters (Ballsy, Viel and Pinky's) priority is "giving back to the people" by helping their Kuya Noy build a better Philippines. Yesterday, Kris jumpstarted her project to help her Kuya Noy in the areas of, among others, feeding the poor and providing them education. First stop was Tarlac, to be followed by Leyte (in cooperation with newly-elected Congresswoman Lucy Torres-Gomez), Jolo and Cebu.
"My team will feed 2,000 school children. We won't stop with the feeding. From there, we go on to helping them acquire a good education. Boy (Abunda) said he would take care of the Samar provinces," clarified Kris.
At 39, Kris said that she has ceased to be the brat "that I used to be" and has matured considerably.
So how would the "new Kris" deal with her detractors?
"I will just ignore them," she shrugged. "Hindi ko na lang sila papansinin. " Flawless gives away LV bags
Somewhere in this section, you will find a Flawless ad about its promo to give away LV bags.
Said Flawless boss Rubby Sy, "We decided to reward our customers with a monthly raffle promo from June to November by giving away a designer bag. December being our anniversary month, we will raffle off a diamond. We chose LV because it's the brand most customers prefer. "
Rubby and Flawless COO Tanya Quibilan went to the LV shop at Greenbelt and discussed with LV sales associate Miles Ong the Flawless raffle promo campaign including plans to feature LV in all promo collaterals such as billboards, advertising, etc. Rubby requested for a discount since Flawless would be spending a lot of money promoting this campaign.
"Miles was not only happy with a big customer purchase, he personally chose the five bags that would fit the Flawless customers profile," said Rubby.
Business cards were exchanged, and Rubby further asked Miles to revert for possible discount given that she purchased in bulk. Miles said that he would inform the company. However, Miles was only too happy to close the deal and sell the bags but did not inform Rubby and Tanya that permission would have to be sought from the LV HQ if they wanted to feature the bags in the promo.
After a billboard featuring Lorna Tolentino with the LV raffle promo went up in Guadalupe Makati last Sunday, Flawless received a call from LV headquarters overseas to take down the billboard. Flawless was taken aback, because they not only bought these genuine bags from the local LV store, they had even informed the sales associate. Although Flawless did not think they did anything inappropriate they did not want to waste time to negotiate with LV as the promo has kicked off, they obliged by modifying the promo collateral.
One Flawless billboard in the whole of Philippines had caught the attention of the LV HQ. Credit goes to Flawless for making such an eye-catchy billboard with the ravishing LT who looks good enough to be an LV endorser.
Shouldn't Rubby have bought Hermes instead? Briefly noted
= Report from a Business Class passenger on Philippine Airlines flight 102 from L. A. to Manila the other day: "I was on the same flight with Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera, and I saw how loving and caring Marian is. Sinusubuan pa n'ya ng ice-cream si Dingdong. They called each other 'Daddy' and 'Baby', and they held hands and were so cozy almost throughout the flight. Hayyyy, nakaka-in-love!"
= From reader Dr. Paciente A. Cordero Jr. : Just a minor correction to your item about newly-elected Northern Samar Vice Gov. Ram Uy whom you said is the "youngest vice governor in Region 8. " The region is actually composed not only of two but six provinces -- three Samar provinces (Northern, Eastern and Western), two Leyte provinces (Leyte and Southern Leyte) and Biliran Province.
